AS LAX - SEA

Well, thanks to Chexfan for giving me his AS confirmed space upgrades, I booked a visit to the Emerald City to see my buddies up there. I got to see a few old friends, met a new friend, and even saw the sun in Seattle!

04/19 AS115 LAX-SEA 3F
Checked in early so decided to use the NW Worldclub. I was denied entry through security as I had to have a NW ticket to enter airside. I was told that this was a NW rule. In LAX Terminal 6, I can go through security to the CO PClub without a ticket. I had 2 AS Gold upgrades that expire this month so I went to the old TWA club (Now American Admiral's Club) to see if the certs would work. They smiled, said welcome to the club, and you can pay the bartender for the drinks! Oh well, I can't expect to drink for free all of the time. Nice flight with a few bumps around Ventura but after that, very smooth as was the Crown Royal! Got to fly on a new 737-900, quite impressed! There was no food service but we did get warm mixed nuts in ramekins. Missydarlin picked me up and ran me over to the Westin where we were to meet Travelweary and hubby Michael for dinner and Guinness at Kell's. Had a voicemail from A Freak who babbled something about meeting up with us, but was a no show.

Dinner at Kell's was nice while watching the Mariner's lose but the Guinness was much better. We had a waitress who told the guys that we suck for not keeping up with Travelweary but I told her that she sucked because we had to run to the other bar 3 times to reload because she was too **** slow! This is where I meet Decklin (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) who is a great Irishman with a love of Guinness who we couldn't convince to do the Jameson's tasting with us.

Saturday 04/20
I got up early on Saturday morning and hit Nordies. I needed a few things and it was such a nice crisp morning to take a walk. Met up with Paula and Michael and was soon Missy. We went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch, then over to the Mariners Store to see if we could buy tickets for todays game. Sold out so we headed to plan B. Chexy met us for a 32oz'r at Von's then we all split up. Missy and I went to the movies and saw Changing Lanes, Paula and Michael drove home, and Chexy went to the Paradise for R & R.

Sunday 04/21
Went over to Charbucks for a grande coffee of the day and read the Seattle Times? Received a call from DTTB around 10:45am. For those who don't know her, she is Punki's niece and she was at the original and ONLY Party in Paradise! She picked me up at the Westin and with our friend Anna, went to Rustler's by SEA for Bloody Mary's and food. Went over to her house for a few minutes and met her boyfriend who it turns out, went to high school with my ex wife...small world.

AS410 SEA-LAX 2F
737-400, ok flight with a nice FA who was reading a script while giving the safety instructions. I had heard it before and remember someone here posting about hearing it also. "Hi my name is Cheryl and my co-workers are my ex husbands new wife, Kim, and our other friend Rachel." It got a few laughs but it was old and tired. Again received warm mixed nuts but in a aluminum cup.

Very scenic flights both ways as you can see the snowcapped mountain tops. I love going to SEA each time and meeting up with old and new friends! See you all in August!

Edited due to spelling and other idiotic errors by a semi-sober writer/editor.

Alaska always used to serve a fruit/cheese/cracker plate up front on it's non-meal flights. It wasn't a full meal, but it was better than nothing. But, I guess even that is no more.

Sorry that we missed you, Newself.

Sadly, (well maybe happily for our dancing and sleeping habits) we danced long into the night in SFO and ended up changing our early morning flight to a much more respectable early afternoon flight, which got us back into Seattle long after you departed.

Really missed all of you, but we will hook up with you again soon.

Get it right MB... it's newzel-F.

FYI: Red Hook will be bottling the Chinook Copper starting next month to celebrate its 20th Anniversary. It's only going to be brewed in Woodinville (not Portsmouth, NH) and only sold in the NorthWest (i.e. WA, OR, ID and Missoula). But it at least gives hopes of buying some here and bringing it home.
