SFO-SIN

First leg SFO-LAX, all shuttles are on time and the flight is clear and beautiful (gee spring really is different from winter when it comes to the shuttle). Thanks to FT I knew the RCC near the gates was closed so I went to the one upstairs (and informed some less knowledgeable travelers later who were looking forlornly at the closed sign where the 1K room was located ).

Adventure one- spent twenty minutes after checking in trying to confirm my identity for HK49 upgrades gave to 2 friends - agent types and types..eventually gives me 2 auditor coupons to sign - "can I have a copy of those or print out of the record in case my friend has a problem" no and no. Go upstairs and ask RCC to check if record is done correctly, "oh you didn't need to sign anything" she says (yes I knew that but the agent downstairs didn't) oh and did you want us to take miles out of your account? No, I said sweetly the whole point is to document the transfer of my ELECTRONIC (no I didn't yell just wanted to) HK 49. Sure hope my friends don't have any problem because I will be half way round the world (hopefully underwater - that is scuba diving) when their flight departs.

NEWS- there is a new (open about 3 weeks), DVD rental place by the book place in domestic. Player rental including 1 movie $10/day, movies $5/5 days - including a free mailer to send it back (if you land at an airport where they don't have an outlet) but only if you are in the US (so no go for my Singapore flight), otherwise postage (and insurance I presume) are at your cost.

Frustrating time with the computer at RCC in Narita - guess I'll have to learn Japanese. Currently sitting at Changi using their free internet connection - this sure is a friendly airport. Bought a wireless pc card to try their free internet access but can't get it to work - so back to wires.

Oh - no new amenity kit in business lax-nrt.
About to leave the airport to go to the Conrad more later
