Hilton Caracas

My luggage was quickly taken by the bell staff as I got off my taxi. Checking in required a 10-minute wait in line. Even though I was using a Hilton certificate, I was upgraded to the HHonors Tower (room 2050) because of my Diamond VIP status. After settling in the room, I noticed a fruit basket and a welcome note on the desk.

The hotel can use a makeover. The dcor is of the early 1970s. Be careful walking around the fountain in the lobby. It sprays a fair amount of water on the floor. The room was clean but is in need of minor repairs. The walls need to be repainted and the bathroom needs to be recaulked. The room was dark even with its four lamps.

The concierge desk is excellent. The hotel staff was fluent in English while the bell staff was very friendly and attentive.

You can review your room charges using the TV. However, video check-out was not available. "Express Check-out" or "Salida Expresa" is available. Simply drop your room key and a check-in card (with your credit card imprint) in the designated box on the front desk. Check-out could be shorter and more efficient. The desk clerk asked for my credit card again. After reviewing my statement, I was checked out of the hotel in a few more minutes. C+
