JR, Love all the food photos per usual
Just don't understand why some of the 5* beach properties can't pay up for some nice, comfortable/appealing beach lounge chairs...the beach chairs looked like they were bought on sale from a thrift shop. This is where Aman gets right.
Aside from that, everything looks fab, though!!!

The return segment was indeed spectacular.
We're no big drinkers, which means that the lovely sound of popping champagne corks didn't resonate all too often in the galley. But if you ask me how much caviar I had, that's another story...
Update: the next installment will be online tomorrow.

The next morning I decided to do something rather unusual for me: I hit the gym. Hard not to be motivated by a view like that.
Back to more familiar activities.
If you think about the time it takes to burn those off in the gym you don't even eat them. Fortunately I don't think that way.
And something slightly more healthy.
Mrs JohnRain took in the view.
After breakfast I explored the sports bar, while Mrs JohnRain was getting ready for our UTV adventure.
Here we go.
These are some pretty neat UTV's...
...and they were brand new. Now, before you ask, we weren't allowed to drive them because the FS didn't have a license for guests yet.
Lana'i has an interesting microclimate: dry & arid on the coast, humid and green on the hinterland.
The world-famous Four Seasons tree.
Let's go offroad.
A closer look at the vegatation of Lana'i.
There are no traffic lights on Lana'i.
And again from clouds and rain...
... to dry heat within minutes.
The final part of the tour consisted of finding out how fast those UTV's could go...
That was fun.
Conclusion: Lana'i doesn't have the lush vegetation of Maui, but it's an interesting island full of contrasts. We even saw a couple of deer and learned that there are a few thousand on the island, in fact deer hunting is one of the island's main activities.
Up Next: Chilling at the FS and a delicious dinner at One Forty. Being the adventurer that I am I had fresh Lana'i venison.

Back at the hotel...
...to the Sports Bar for the lovely view...
...and for some typical Hawaiian fare: the Kailani Burger: Grass-fed Beef, Brioche Bun, Truffle Aïoli, Beer-Battered Onion Rings, Aged Cheddar, Portobello Mushroom, Bacon.
Verdict: good, but not as good as the Hana Burger on Maui.
A nice Sundae to finish.
Excuse me sir, could you please step aside as I'd like to take a photo of the lovely orchids.
Theeeeere you go, much better, thanks.
I tried to make him speak but didn't succeed.
I just couldn't get enough of those botanical gardens.
We settled in comfortable beach loungers and stayed there until dusk.
The torchlit main building.
Dinner at One Forty.
To start I tried a local beer out of curiosity. Cool name, OK taste.
Then a bottle of red, compliments of the F&B director.
Kobe Beef Carpaccio.
Big Island Lobster.
And the famous Lana'i Venison. Delicious.
Something for my sweet tooth to finish.
And some ice cream because fruits are good for you.
Conclusion: I'm glad I could eat venison without having to shoot the deer first.
Up Next: Why must all good things end?: our last day at FS Lana'i.

Your pics are starting to justify the price of the FS Lanai and I don't like that one bit. I preferred to sit at my desk and grumble about their increased rates but now I just want to go.
And you two need to procreate. Your kid would make Beyonce look like Precious.
Great report!
