What is a real time trip report?

I love this website, best discovery I've ever made! I also love the trip reports, they are all really interesting.

What does a trip report in "real time" mean? Many of the trip reports say "in real time" in the subject field.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Thanks, Flyer

Real time means the report is being done 'on the fly', or as it's happening. Others post trip reports after they return.

Personally, I try to do real time so I don't have so much to remember.

Real Time means that if I post right now, I'll be late for drinks with Premex, Anna, the CAT, et al, at the Marriott Marquis in Midtown! Better scoot. Sorry you aren't all here in the big apple to enjoy.

Sorry I'm not there too, Punki. Have a great time in the Big Apple.

flyer, I just posted a 'real time' report.

newself, I'm still waiting to find the place that does yards of margaritas... Only problem is I'd need a saltlick on the table!

I have a different system for trip reports.

If I don't have my laptop with me, I carry around a little diary type notebook and I write in as I'm in an airplane or at a hotel or at a restaurant (I did NOT take the book out at the Poor PALM restaurant in vegas, but once outside I found a bench and whipped it out and started writing.)

I write a lot of different things in my diary and some hospitality people think I'm a critic or reviewer (and I guess a few thing "What an odd duck this person is!"

YOu will all see my new diary book with appropriate cat on the cover at the PIP!

Catman:
What's a laptop?
I'd also imagine that little diary gets you some good service from those fgolks who think you're a reviewer. Of course, you are, whether you know it of not. Ruth's Chris would never make it without you.
