INTRO
Long time lurker here and I have enjoyed reading all the trip reports posted on this forum, so I thought I'd share mine. I didn't take photos with a write up in mind. Sorry if I don't include any detailed flight images, such as menus, bathroom, amenities…etc.

ITINERARY
SFO-HND | KIX-TPE | TSA-HND-SFO

We spent about 2 weeks in Japan and 1 week in Taiwan.

SFO-HND

JAL 777 SFO-HND First Class

The food was great and the seat is very comfortable, but what stood out the most is their service and attention to detail. The flight attendants would come around every 10-15 min to make sure you have everything you need, and not in an intrusive way. Trash and dirty dishes were almost picked up immediately.

JAPAN

Tsukiji Fish Market

Shinjuku

Ice creme vending machine!

Shibuya Crossing

Hakone

Kusatsu

Asakusa Shrine

Food from the department store basement

Super hard UFO catchers

Giant octopus sign in Dotonbori

Nara

Fushimi Inari Shrine

The famous Ichiran Ramen

KIX-TPE

JAL 737 KIX-TEP Business Class

JAL lounge at KIX

Noooo, I just realized I didn’t take any photos for this leg.

Taiwan

Clean and reasonably priced business hotel near TSA

Taipei 101

Night market

Stinky tofu

The famous beef noodle!

The Taiwan photos I took are mostly food, we didn’t go to touristy places since I lived there for 6 years. We spent time eating with family, gaining 5 pounds in just one week. Definitely check out Taiwan if you are into food!

TSA-HND-SFO

JAL 98/2 TSA-HND-SFO Business Class

TSA-HND

6 hour layover in the HND JAL Business Class lounge

Amazing curry

Very convenient locker room. We were able to check out the terminal without having to drag our luggages around.

We have been traveling for almost a day at this point, and it was very nice to be able to take a shower before traveling for another 9 hours.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading this!

Awesome trip report! I just got back from Osaka myself and loved it. Although, I found Ichiran to be a little overrated, what do you think? I think there are way better Ramen places out there. Thanks for taking the time to write this up!

Great report! JAL F looks amazing ... I've read a few reports about JAL's First Class recently, and everything from the cabin, to the food, looks incredible.

Thank you for sharing!

Oh for sure, but I do like how they let you customize your bowl, if you don't want the broth too heavy or noodles too firm.
