Not BA to the USA, via DUB (of course)

Great TR so far.

Thanks for sharing.

The food on AA is very disappointing at the moment. Pretty much the same menu for First Class out of LHR currently too.

I would say if you're in J it's actually really quite good, although there does seem to be a pretty short list of possible options so can see how it would get repetitive for those that fly AA a lot. Was certainly happy with what I got this weekend, as I had an almost perfectly cooked steak (very pink inside) JFK-LHR in J, it was streets ahead of anything I've seen in CW. Given the menu is essentially the same though, I'd probably be disappointed with the food if I'd booked an F ticket.

T8191, Having flown in J on the US Airways A330 about 20 times, I should not have read your report. It makes me miss it even more now that I'm stuck in WTP on BA. Although, I did get lucky for one trip this year when I had to go deal with some unfinished business at my former place of employment. They paid for J on my favourite airline and plane (mentioned above).

I had a laugh when I realized that I'm starting to repeat myself. Many months ago I told you that the window seats in the 1-2-1 configuration where the best even when travelling with your spouse. Then I gave you the same suggestion about a month ago thinking that I was writing to a different person. I'm getting old. :(

Part 2 published ... thanks for the comments so far ^

Don't worry, StuckinITH, we're all ageing :D
But your recommendation/comments were 100% accurate!

Part 3 done ... that's enough for one day. Part 4 tomorrow, with luck.

As to the translation, I can only assume political correctness, in the same way we pander to the handful of Welsh speakers who insist all their road signs, Government documents, etc are in their moribund exclusive language. That is the way of the 21st Century everywhere, including signs in stores in the USA in English and Spanish. But this is a probably a topic for the Rant Thread, or indeed OMNI :D

Rant away but, factually, there were over 562,000 Welsh speakers at the date of the last census in 2011- quite a handful!

Fair call, but how many of the 562,000 can't read/speak English anyway? 322? :D

Only teasing, Sir!

LOL! Your glass of port is like all the glasses of port I had on US Airways. Obviously, all the flight attendants (cabin crew) missed the lecture on fortified wines.

Lovely report. I was thinking of going to SAV for a wee break next Spring - you've perhaps pushed me more in that direction...

I do enjoy US/AA' Port selection - and the fact they have a few bottles on board. Whenever I fly BA the Port is usually gone by the first drinks round - the wee bottle they stock isn't enough!

Coming through CLT this week I used this page on aa.com to see that my bags had connected ok.

http://www.aa.com/travelInformation/bag/tracker/

Likewise on the way out I could see that they didn't but I did see what subsequent flight they were put on in close enough to real time. I thought this was a very useful tool.

I first encounter this scenario back in the 80s, when Gurkha soldiers were helping run an Army mess ... They poured Port Wine in wine glasses there too. The RAF team just said nothing, and lapped it up :)

Useful tip ... Thank you! We have an upcoming DUB-PHL-LAX-HNL with AA, returning HNL-LAX-LHR-DUB, so that will be a comfort. Never had a stray bag yet (touch wood) and I would like to retain the 100% record :)

Enjoyed this TR as we are doing the DUB-PHL flight next year hopefully they keep the a330 on it once the merger is complete.^

A pleasure to read as always. Given the (moderate & balanced) T8191 seal of approval I shall consider the US A330 for a future TATL hop either ex-DUB or ex-LHR.

I await Part 4...
