Beautiful photos and report.
I flew CX from YVR to HKG in early July this year- my request for a cockpit visit after landing was turned down by the crew
I emailed Cathay and they told me that their policy was no flightdeck visits at all. However, it seems like may people have gotten cockpit visits on CX.
(sighs)
Oh well.
Thanks again for the great report!

Glad you enjoyed the report.
Cockpit visits are only granted if the Captain is kind enough to let you do so. Most Cathay pilots do welcome avgeeks to enter the cockpit and take pictures. That said though, you would probably get a better chance if it was a long haul flight, as they won't have to worry so much about tight turnarounds.
You've been quite unlucky to have got a strict captain on your flight, so keep trying and you should get your go pretty soon

Great report! I've been upgraded once to business class on CX but it was a short flight from SIN to HKG.
Love your pics and the food looks great.
It's quite unusual to be able to land quickly at LHR which is known to have a long stacking queue, last week when I picked up my parents from LHR I saw their plane stack for 4 or 5 times before being able to land!
You mentioned using a Seat Alert app in your post, which one is it? Is it this one: Seat Alerts by ExpertFlyer ?
