Hi,

These are only taken with a small Sony RX100 Mk II. I normally use the Nikon D300 w/ 14-24mm f2.8 for trips abroad... nevertheless, the small Sony is very handy and can deliver superb shots

(sighs)

Oh well.
Thanks again for the great report!
Hi Ethan,

Glad you enjoyed the report.

Cockpit visits are only granted if the Captain is kind enough to let you do so. Most Cathay pilots do welcome avgeeks to enter the cockpit and take pictures. That said though, you would probably get a better chance if it was a long haul flight, as they won't have to worry so much about tight turnarounds.

You've been quite unlucky to have got a strict captain on your flight, so keep trying and you should get your go pretty soon

Thanks a million.

I've already secured a Manchester - HK J class seat in December(again an upgrade with miles), so you can look forward to that

Great report! I've been upgraded once to business class on CX but it was a short flight from SIN to HKG.

Love your pics and the food looks great.

It's quite unusual to be able to land quickly at LHR which is known to have a long stacking queue, last week when I picked up my parents from LHR I saw their plane stack for 4 or 5 times before being able to land!

You mentioned using a Seat Alert app in your post, which one is it? Is it this one: Seat Alerts by ExpertFlyer ?

It was also quite surprised to get a straight in approach, but I'm not going to complain about that
