What is the cabin crew compliment and distribution going to be?

Still two FAs in F and three in J?

Also, is the J galley located at the L/R 2 doors, or does it come from the front or rear galley?

There were 2 FAs on mine in F ... f galley at door 1.

Don't know how many J FAs but there is another galley at Door 2. So J meals will not have to pass through another cabin like they do on 767.

Great report, thanks, I was looking forward to hearing about the new AA 321T, and you beat the pack!

Just flew that seat on CX HKG-NRT and it's got pluses and minuses. I found it a little claustrophobic with that big wall of plastic on one side. Nice and private though and the direct aisle access is a big win over UA.

Interestingly, AA is currently selling F on this route for almost $800 less than J on UA ps ($3500 vs. $4300). We'll see how that works out for UA.

Thanks for the report. I have a couple BOS SFO trips lines up in the summer, so I may have to dump some DMs into routing through JFK to SFO.

They can serve pre-departure drinks in glass glasses, but the glasses have to be picked-up and secured in the galley before the aircraft can push back from the gate.

Plastic "glasses" can remain out after pushback.

(14 CFR 121.577; See http://fsims.faa.gov/wdocs/dct/atos%...o_v8_11112.htm (Section 1.10(5)).)

I suspect we would see even more grousing if the airline picked-up all pre-departure drinks prior to pushback.

Seats in J are the same. Unless you're regularly going F, being SF-based, seems there is little reason to switch.

Yeah....the menu needs some diversity. My first thoughts were on the repetitiveness of chicken.

Then again, I've never been impressed by the adventurousness of US carriers' menus, as they tend to be "steak, chicken breast, or pasta". I suppose that combo has been deemed least likely to intimidate the palates of (middle) American flyers.

Is there going to be an impact on AA upgrades considering the transcon service improvements?

DL just announced that after April, they will not upgrade pax for free anymore on the transcon routes, System Wide Upgrade certs will be required. Wondering if something equivalent may happen at AA now.

I suspect that EXP upgrades will continue to be free but increasingly scarce, as this is a high-value route with lots of purchased premium seats. UGs are already difficult on this route.

Just flew HNL-ORD last night and it was the exact same wine list. To echo as everyone else said for a flagship First class product they really need to divsersify, though we did have Entwine as Chase's Choice :P
