Great photos. Nice report. Not a place I'm looking to go any time soon, but I'm glad some one is going there. And certainly a couple of airlines we don't see here very often. :-)

Clearly different from the average Lufthansa First Class Terminal reports...

Interesting stuff, and I appreciate the background info.
Yes, very unique and different. Quite frankly, I'm almost bored of all the F class pics. Thoroughly enjoyed the pics, your commentary, and the history lesson. A job very well done!

Excellent TR. A big and welcome relief from ad nauseam (sic) the pictures of the same FC lounges and FC lie flat seats. Thank you.

Excellent report and pictures. I doubt I'll ever make it there - never say never even as a lady - but I love to read and see images of life there.

Very interesting. Nice report.
Very different perspective on Afghanistan from what we hear or see in the news.

Just curious - what did you pay for the bodyguard?

Ah, so those wooden sticks ("miswak") are common in Afghanistan too.

I was in Omaha last year, and met some friendly Somalians (apparently, there's a small population of Sudanese/Somalians/Ethiopians in Omaha) who gifted me one of those, sealed in plastic. Don't know when I'll ever use it...

What was that orange drink in the final picture on Safi Airways? Looks delicious!

Wonderful, insightful trip report. Personally, I prefer stories and photos like these than just another UA or BA J thing from ol' LHR or JFK.

Fantastic. Thanks.

My cousin visited Afghanistan in 1976 and said it was fantastic in those days.
