Out of curiosity are those N'EX seats the regular or "ordinary" ones? I think they look plenty nice if they are and can't see myself spending the extra for the leather "Green" seats for the journey.

Awesome trip and report! :D Why didn't you take NRT-JFK, NRT-DTW, or NRT-MSP? You could've spent more time in NRT and still have made it back to TPA Sunday evening.
BTW, do you like eating sushi? If not, start practicing by taking trips to Manhattan and eating in the Japanese sushi bars. Then, eventually up your standards by only going Tokyo for the weekend to have sushi.

Great report. I love the photo of the Subway map and your sheet of paper showing the transportation details of your entire trip. Very meticulous.

Thanks everyone!
I didn't notice last time I was in NRT that the crew all waved, I honestly thought it was just the fact we were the last flight haha. What would you guys think of a full day trip to Singapore? Possible? |
What is interesting is, the Maserati is a left hand car, not a right hand car, so someone imported that baby into Japan.... VERY expenisve to do... Excellent photo, BTW.

I liked this picture. A Maserati cruising through the streets of Ginza. |
What camera and lens were you using? Awesome pics!

This type of TR only further cements my view that one can enjoy Tokyo even on a shorter layover...esp. flying in NRT and out HND.
those shops at HND are very very nice. |
Great report - loved the stunning pictures of Tokyo on your way out of HND. Sorry that the Sky Tree was closed, I hope I didn't steer you the wrong way. Looking forward to assisting you on your next Japan trip itinerary!

Great TR! :)

Thank you ...
... Excellent trip report and great inspiration as I am in Tokyo for 36 hours in December and was feeling somewhat overwhelmed by the range of things to do. Excellent insight and guidance (not to mention great photos).
I look forward to reading your next TR ... have a great weekend. :D |
Thanks everyone!

Great TR
I guess the 23 is a company policy, do u consider going into the airline industry to get the perks later on? I used to travel through BA on standby, it was cheap but on busy routes not most fun and no lounge access, |

Great TR! I'm slightly ashamed that I've lived in Japan for a couple years and had a couple visits, and I've only accomplished a little bit more than you did in a day. :o Great photos, too.
One qualm: I think that Aeroflot "A340" is an A330. I can't see a second pair of engines that would be an easy way to differentiate the 340 from the 330. ETA: Also, what sort of engineering are you studying? |
