Did BA know of your 'copter arrangements? Surely that must raise a flag for them (although it's a might expensive way to avoid the queues...)

Shame you had to wait for the other 8 friends to endure 1 hour of queueing I guess.

When so many people these days find themselves at the pin of their collar trying to make ends meet, provide for their families, hold onto their homes & retain some shred of their dignity.

I think that it's great you all could go on your first class trip to NYC & I really do wish you well. I hope that good fortune continues to shine on you, so that you can continue to take these trips & live like you do. But I just ask that you take a moment to consider how lucky & privileged you all are.
I think this is quite harsh, I'm off to NYC in December, flying out in first and back in CW, it doesn't mean I'm privileged or that well off that i don't need to work, far from it in fact.

People are free to spend their money how they please, personally in December I'm spending miles and 2-4-1 voucher earned on our joint Amex card.

Kered, thanks for your thoughtful post. Of course I realise how lucky we are to be able to do such a trip.

origin; yes we all stayed at The Standard. For this type of trip it is perfect. However, I would not go there with family. It's a party hotel.

Swiss Tony: They did not. Also, 2 in F + 8 in CW. Two golds in the CW group did not get picked by SS for escort.

I'm not sure it was meant to be harsh but I do know I count my blessing everyday. Our kids are grown and we too will be using our Chase 2-4-1 to go to CPT or DEL in F next year. It is how we choose to spend out money. Some of our friends drive newer and nicer cars, have bigger and newer homes. We spend our money on J or F travel for vacations.

Great TR and we look forward to trying New F.

Apologies for the slight hijack - was looking at the Standard in MIA, has anyone stayed there?

Normally going to the Delano but fancy a change.

Well done. I hope to copy that very soon, but to LAX instead. And Avis instead of a helicopter.

When I turned 30 I invited my one mate down to the Swan for a pint and a pie.

Glad you liked new F. I took a quick look inside the cabin on one of my recent flights and found it to be much more brighter than I thought it would be with the new blinds. Looks as if you all had a fun time.

When you turned 30 it would have taken 10 days to get to NYC by boat so not really a weekend option...

I know it's after lunch and I've just consumed a lot of kebab and wine and sometimes things simply appear blurred ..... but what has happened to your faces? Est-il moi ?

And, excuse the ignoramus tendencies but on piccy 1, what is in the tin? Are we applying some form of dubbing to a sensitive moosh?

And on the Brit front. PLEASE! Jam first. Clot next. No mixxy - no pissy Britty offy.
