Okay, so I just flew into Bangkok on CX for a wedding from SFO-HKG in F, and then C to BKK.
3.5 bottles of Krug, and a bottle and a half of great Bordeaux over 15 hours.
Not record-breaking. Everything was great. BUT, it wasn't like that magical SQ trip.
Life can be so inconsistent sometimes.

I have reviewed this thread several times since the OP recounted his history. I am not a champagne lover myself by my spouse most definitely is. Some time ago we had a trip from NYC_ZRH on Swiss and a day or two later from LHR-SIN on SQ. She drank 5 bottles of Dom Perignon between the flights, creating a legend in our family. I drank wonderful Bordeaux on both flights. After all SQ F is very, very special, with that one cannot disagree.

I usually don't visit this forum but I am so glad I did! It was the only one I read and now won't bother to read any others. Excellent write up. OP is a travel icon but so are those FA. Cheers to all that made such an accomplishment possible.

Macabus, fantastic report.
We need to meet up for a serious Champagne session.
Interesting that the 2000 Dom is better than the 1999.
With Bollinger GA it is the opposite: 1999 is king and 2000 not so much.
I take it the Krug offered during the impromptu tasting was NV?

Yes, the Krug was NV. But I have a new appreciation for it after 4+ bottles last week on CX from SFO-HKG. I'll make a final determination tomorrow on my flight back to LAX.
Cheers,

The F purser appears before me.
"Mr. Macabus," he says with grave consternation. "It seems there are very strong headwinds to NRT."
I envision a tropical waterfall filled with with Champagne. He does not disappoint.
"We must load extra fuel," he says and presents a new bottle from behind his back. "Here's some more Champagne while we wait."
Brilliant.
