Advice Needed- Itin Ditching

Can anyone advise possible consequences if I drop off an intin that routes SEASIA-US- Canada?
Its a one way ticket, obviously I do not need the leg to Canada. If I were to drop off the itin at the US port of entry, is it possible the airline in question would come after you to recoup the fare difference? The itin is ticketed by one airline, but the connecting leg is on a different carrier (and different alliance)
Thanks for advice

Most likely you will be OK.... assuming it is not a recurring event. Since it is the final leg, you will most likely be OK. I am assuming you will have to collect any checked bags at your US point of entry.... and would have to recheck to the Canada flight airline anyway... so just do not recheck any checked bags.
