Question about connecting flights
Hi,
First of all, I apologise if this is in the wrong section, its just a general question really.
But I'm travelling from the Uk to America for the first time soon and to get to my destination I'll be getting a connecting flight. So, I'll be travelling from London to Philidelphia, and then I will be flying from Philidelphia to Providence.
What I wanted to know was, when I get to Philidelphia, do I need to collect my bags and get my passport checked again (like I did for the first flight), or can I just go to the gate for my next flight, with my bags being transferred from one plane to the other without me having to get things checked or checking in my luggage again?
Sorry if theres an obvious answer, but it'd put my mind at rest!
Thanks!

You will have to collect your bags and clear immigration in Philadelphia, before being able to get on your next flight. I can't speak for Philadelphia, but in Atlanta at least there was a special bag drop area for connecting passengers just after immigration.

supersonic1, welcome to FlyerTalk! Coincidentally, there's a current thread in our Travel->Mid-Atlantic forum here which should answer your question. If you still have questions after reading the discussion in the Philadelphia connection thread, don't hesitate to ask in the thread above. I'll close this thread. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator, TravelBuzz.
