Did Georgia-Armenia-Georgia a few weeks ago. How strange - they made everyone walk across.

For those of us that at times have had to cross borders multiple times on a daily basis a listing is meaningless.

That's right, we had to walk too even though we had a car/taxi Yerevan-Tbilisi. I have to say the georgian immigration officers were the funniest and friendliest ever... flirting and everything!

Hmm, cool idea! Here's my list (as best I can recall):

By car (including ferries with car):
1994: USA (Alaska) > Canada > USA
1995: USA > Canada > USA (Alaska)
1997ish: USA > Canada > USA (Alaska)
1998ish: USA > Canada > USA > Mexico > USA
1999: Germany > Austria > Germany > France > Luxembourg > France > Spain > Portugal > Spain > Gibraltar > Andorra > France > Monaco > France > Italy > San Marino > Italy > Austria > Germany > Czech Republic > Germany > Poland > Czech Republic > Germany
2000: Germany > Austria > Hungary > Slovakia > Poland > Lithuania > Latvia > Estonia > Finland > Sweden > Norway > Denmark > Germany > Netherlands > Belgium > France > England > Wales > Ireland > Scotland > England > France > Belgium > Germany
2001: Germany > Austria > Slovenia > Croatia > Slovenia > Austria > Hungary > Romania > Bulgaria > Turkey > Greece > Italy > Switzerland > Italy > Switzerland > France > Switzerland > Liechtenstein > Switzerland > Germany

By foot:
1998ish: USA > Canada > USA (International Peace Garden, North Dakota)
1999: Italy > Vatican > Italy
2009: Thailand > Myanmar > Thailand

By boat (excluding ferries with car):
1999: Spain > Morocco > Spain
2009: Thailand > Laos > Thailand

By bus:
2009: Singapore > Malaysia

By train:
1999: Finland > Russia > Finland

Where countries are listed in succession, the borders were crossed as part of a single trip. I believe all of the above have been with my grandfather as part of our road trip obsession!

Not too many for me:

1. US to Canada (New York to Toronto via Buffalo/Niagra Falls and New York to Montreal.
2. Switzerland to France before the E.U. days. We were in a family friend's car who was an ex-pat. The border police found his New Jersey plates of interest.
3. Italy to Vatican City. But who hasn't done this one?

A tough one - loads of border crossings in Europe, mostly by car.

Germany <-> Switzerland
Germany <-> Austria
Germany <-> Belgium
Germany <-> Luxembourg
Germany <-> France
Germany <-> Czech Republic
Germany <-> Netherlands

Austria <-> Liechtenstein
Austria <-> Slovenia

Slovenia <-> Croatia

Switzerland <-> Liechtenstein
Switzerland <-> France
Switzerland <-> Italy

France <-> Luxembourg
France <-> Spain
France <-> Monaco
France <-> Italy

Belgium <-> Netherlands
Belgium <-> Luxembourg

Spain <-> Gibraltar

Probably some more that I can't remember right now.

Elsewhere in the world, I'm a bit more sure:

USA <-> Canada

Mexico -> Guatemala -> Honduras
Belize -> Mexico

Spain (Ceuta) <-> Morocco

Singapore <-> Malaysia

Thailand -> Cambodia

Lebanon <-> Syria

Haha...I knew I was going to do that somewhere. Thought I caught them all, but...well--anyway, it's fixed now.

It depends on the border crossing. It isn't true at Bavra, but that is a fairly unusual, less traveled one. (I was going from Bakuriani, not Tblisi, and stopping in Gyumri on the way to Yerevan.)

Indeed. I couldn't name all the crossing points, let alone make a guess at the number of occasions.
