How to read a routing and get it to work?

I'm having trouble with a fare that came out on a farecompare alert....CHI to FAY for $128ai.

Here's what the fare's routing says:
FROM-TO CHI-BOS/CLT/NYC/PHL/PIT/WAS-CLT-FAY*
FROM-TO CHI-BOS-CLT-FAY*
RESTRICTIONS: - MUST NOT: Nonstop travel
FROM-TO FROM FAY- TO CHI* OR FROM FAY- TO CLT/NYC/PHL/PIT/WAS-CHI* VIA CLT-BOS
RESTRICTIONS: - MUST NOT: Nonstop travel

Am I correct in reading the above to say that I must travel from CHI through one of the northeastern city connects to Charlotte and then to FAY? So, CHI-BOS-CLT-FAY would be a valid outbound? And then on the return, I can fly FAY-CHI or FAY-CLT-BOS-CHI?

The trouble is, I can't seem to get this to work on ITA, Orbitz, USAirways' site, etc. How can I see and book this fare? Supposedly, it is available through the March timeframe and was just filed on the 14th of November.

Have you tried just booking a ORD-FAY roundtrip on the US Airways website? I'm getting an all-in of $142.50 when I try that. A little more than $128, but pretty close.

I checked this on our travel agency computer and found the following -

ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS ON ROUTING:
TRAVEL MUST NOT BE NONSTOP.

There is obviously a conflict with the two sets of restrictions, and furthermore, there are no nonstop flights between Chicago and Fayetteville. So there is no way to book this fare.


However, there is a similar fare available as a UA codeshare -

TOA14N6A 69.00 138.00 UA ROUTE:0042
VALID SINGLE CONNECT CITIES FROM: CHI TO FAY

You should be able to book this one, as the nonstop restriction is missing from the UA fare.

There is no conflict -- routing rules state that travel must NOT be non-stop.

Thanks for your replies folks. I still can't get it to book anywhere online. Now it is just a matter of curiosity and knowledge as to why I cannot book it. I can get $145ai but not $128ai. Perhaps I'm being fed the wrong fare by farecompare... But, if there is a way to get it to $128, I would just like to know now, for my own education.

I get tons of $142.50 - without seeing the FareCompare alert, this sounds like the "Alert" isn't calculating the PFC and September 11 fee for the mandatory connections.
