Blessing / prayer recording before flight

Recently I few Royal Brunei Airlines.

I thought that before the flight it was blessed by a long prayer in Arabic.

Any similar experiences?

Other than that the flight seemed 'western.'

PIA have an Islamic blessing in Arabic before every flight (at least every one of the 20+ flights that I've taken to, from and within Pakistan).

It doesn't really matter to me either way personally.

El Al used to print an appropriate prayer in Hebrew and English at the front of the in-flight magazine.

Not a "flight" per se, but before our ferry ride in MNL to Corregidor Island, the departure video included a prayer for a safe journey to the island.

Not sure about ELAL, but there is a prayer that jews say before travelling called tefilat haderech - the traveler's prayer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tefilat_HaDerech

I sometimes see a copy of it included in my kosher meal.

Has anyone here ever taken a flight that seemed "non-Western"?

(For reasons other than getting served meals in short-haul Y.)

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.51 Beta (Microsoft Windows; PPC; Opera Mobi/1718; U; en))

When I flew El Al a few years back there were no over-the-PA prayers.

I flew Egyptair in July; they also had a prayer recording before flight.

The only thing that I would consider "non-Western" about Egyptair is that they don't serve alcohol on their flights (which I believe is also the case on Royal Brunei - can the OP confirm?).
