Compensation for missed connection?

Hi,

A couple of days ago, I flew LHR to KWI via DOH on Qatar Airways. The transit time in DOH was 35 minutes (I know it works since I used the same connection two weeks ago). The flight from LHR was late and landed 5 minutes (yes 5) late. As a result, I missed the connecting flight. This meant I had a 6 hour (same as the LHR to DOH flight time) wait at the DOH airport.

Can I claim compensation under the EU passengers charter?.

No.

You were flying on a non-EU airline and you missed a connection at a non-EU airport.

OK. Thanks.

I thought as long as your flight originated within the EU, you were covered under the charter. I didn't realise you had to use an EU airline and fly with the EU.

Even if you were on an eligible itinerary under EU261/2004, you would not be due any compensation for missed connections or delays.
