Isn't the transportation of more than a certain amount of cigarettes across state lines considered a federal crime? And state-level crimes? (I'm not a lawyer, but a quick Googling revealed a great many references to the illegality of transporting large amounts of cigarettes across state lines.)


I agree with the poster who said that FT should not be involved with advertising cigarette prices, especially given that we have underage members here.

Singapore has you all beat. A single pack costs S$12 (US$8.30) upwards, and while SIN duty-free has some of the cheapest tobacco around, the kicker is that the duty-free allowance into Singapore is zero -- no more than one opened pack (not carton, pack) allowed. And no more sneaking in smokes once this goes through next year:

that's why I'd grab a carton or 2 at most. Most of the cig stores even had big signs in them talking about the limits you could bring across, as so many people used to do it.

The point of the thread is not to advocate smoking, we already know it's deleterious to our health, but to ascertain the prices of squares around the world.

What we should really do is post the addresses of all the Tobacco For Minors® store locations around the country.

They’re usually co-located with Alcohol For Minors® stores (part of the retail distribution unit of Recreational Pharmaceuticals Corporation).

A carton of Winston 100's on Florida West coast runs around $25 with tax at certain gas stations.

I was going to buy European cigarettes online but they asked for a checking account number which I was reluctant to give out. Has anyone used such a website that asks for checking account information and what were the results?

I don't believe FT is advertizing the price of cigs. Its the posters of the threads that are relaying cigs prices.

Good. They frankly need to be higher since nobody seems to notice that they're paying their arms, legs, and first born for cigarettes, at least in NYC. Say around the range of, $20 a pack? As much as I'm against social engineering, I'm sick and tired of not being able to breathe whenever I walk outside.

And given how incapable smokers are of quitting cigarettes, this could probably pay off the entire national debt plus fund national healthcare.

As far as underage kids goes, they see more vodka commercials per hour on TV than they do here. :rolleyes:

I Vape them up in airports with no problems still too chicken to Vape on planes . After intital costs its even cheaper than real cig's, about $1 for a packs worth. All my non smoking friends let me Vape in their homes.

I'm from Eastern Nebraska where they average $3.50-$4.00for Marlboro Lights and the ones considered "off" brand usually run $2.80-$3.50 per pack.

I am traveling to New Mexico this week and would like to know the price in Albuquerque and surrounding area.

I think this website is awesome because it never used to be an issue until the last 10 years ago or so. But if you're a smoker, you could definitely get hit with sticker shock if you didn't stock up before going to certain areas, such as Chicago.....I couldn't believe how much I had to pay for a pack. Needless to say, I now bring my own when going to Chi-town. They can get their tax money from someone else besides me.:p

And regarding the unecessary comments from people stating that this form is "encouraging minors".....sorry to say, if a minor stumbles across this forum, it wasn't on accident and I'd bet my life savings that they already smoke. :rolleyes:

In closing, I'd like to state that I don't advocate smoking whatsoever, but if it weren't for us pitiful smokers, imagine how much higher EVERYONE's taxes would be.:)

I have not bought cartons in years but I do, sometimes, pop into duty free shops just out of curioisity. In Delhi duty free shops, a carton used to be between U.S. $11 and $14, while in BKK it's about $14, I think.
