Online Reservation Question
I was wondering what happens if someone who does not know how the online reservation system works accidentally pressed the refund/cancel reservation button? How would they reinstate the reservation? Does the reservation cancel right away or can they call and say they accidentally pressed the wrong button. What happens when one selects this does the reservation go bye bye or can one recall the reservation in case of an accident or would they have to pay the high fare.

Most likely, your reservation would be lost.... there is no guarantee that the seat even returns to the inventory... especially if a flight is oversold... or, if the seat returns, it may not return to the same fare bucket.
So, you would most likely have to rebook the flight a pay whatever the current fare is.
Fortunately, most of those refund/cancel options have a confirmation page... so, if you then confirm.... tough to call it an accident....
