Absolutely; I'm old enough to not worry about what anyone else might think; however I do use retained airline PJ's where they are more like a light tracksuit ...

Likewise. And yes, if one is going to change in/out of their pj's on the plane, please do so in the lav.

Why not just wear something comfortable enough to sleep in to board? Will save you much time and energy. A nice velour tracksuit maybe?;)

But itīs not always possible. Because I am leaving the company, driving to the airport and jump on the plane. I change before I will go to sleep.

Like several other posters, I like to change into the pjs while still on the ground, prior to take-off. I usually only use the pj bottoms and wear a t-shirt brought from home. I find the long sleeved pj tops to be too warm for flying! I usually change back just after breakfast/just before landing.

Usually I change into PJ's after I have boarded and prior to takeoff. As others have said it's nice to arrive at your destination in a fresh set of clothes that you haven't sat in for 14+ hours. I change back after the meal service prior to arrival.

Does anyone care to explain what airlines/routes/classes provide PJs? Until this thread I have never heard of such a thing.

why ? what makes it a "good point" ?

I usually change into PJs (in the lav) before TO, and get dressed about an hour before landing.

BA TATL F is the only place I've been offered the PJs. I've heard rumors of sleep suits on VS TATL UC, but never been offered them.

Don't expect them from any of the US Flagged carriers, but if you're overseas you'll see them. Personally I've received them on SQ F, NH F, and LH F. I've been gifted PJ's from BA F and CX F.
They are available on most longhaul routes. On SQ you'll get them on daytime flights exceeding 7 hours and evening flights exceeding 4 hours.

SQ F is designed by Givenchy and CX F is designed by Shanghai Tang.

Here's a sampling of the SQ amenities in F over the years.

A few years ago, AA was on track with the PJs, but decided to scrap the plan, in lieu of mnagement bonuses. I hope you are all comfy in your own sleepwear.

Killing time before online checkin becomes available...

curious, what is the ettiquette about changing planes? Is there anyone who walks through transit in their jammies? Otherwise, you have to change four times... or wear comfortable clothing to start with (which doesn't mean I'm endorsing juicy couture or those plastic clogs that are polluting society, by the way ;) )

I wouldn't worry about etiquette - just do whatever feels comfortable. Anyone who sees you in transit will probably never see you again. I believe some people do walk around the airport lounges in PJs - usually airline branded ones to demonstrate their premiumness - and people on these forums have mocked. But if you are going to be wearing your own PJs and not inhabiting the lounges then do as you wish. And you'll have real clothes in your carry on bags, so if you find you've made a horrible mistake then you can always pop into the loos to change.

I put them on after the seatbelt sign comes off and stay in them until I get home/to work.. If I have a pair spare, I put them on before passport control and wear my coat over (hand to the stewardess once I'm seating).

I also wear sandals and pack comfy socks, I can never fathom why people wear suits onto planes for overnight flights (pack em good and they won't crease).

Mr H - Our fanny is different than your fanny. ;)

Pajamas

out of curiosity, who changes into PJ's on long flights?

I've been on a number of long, transatlantic/transpacific flights and the idea is becoming more and more appealing.

i was thinking i'd just switch into my pj bottoms and change back before landing.

or would that be awfully strange?
