Learning Sabre?
I am looking to change industries and one of the requirements of a job I am looking at, is that I have a basic understanding of how to use Sabre or AMADEUS. I am in corporate training.
If anyone can direct me to a REPUTABLE on-line school or agency, I would be grateful. There are so many out there but some look VERY sketchy.
Thanks!

Good luck with that - and I say that non-sarcastically. SABRE is a pain to learn. It may as well be its own programming language.
Also, what is a "reputial" school?

I know Apollo pretty well (no expert) and although it isn't rocket science, it is totally different than anything you are used to. Apollo has some online tutorial, methinks, once you have your sign in. I'd expect Sabre to be similar.

1st sorry for the typo - reputable
2nd, looking for an on-line school that offers CRS training. there are a few on-line, but they all look a bit "for profit" and not necessarily out for the students good. So just wondering if there any travel agents or others that learned via the on-line method. Like I said, it is not a main part of the job I am looking at, but part of requirements. Just looking to get a 5-10 hour course on the basics.

Can you clarify what iteration of Sabre the want you to know?
There is the traditional "green screen" formats that do take some practice and instruction to learn, but there is also Turbo Sabre which is a more user friendly desktop version.

Amadeus by the way is a completely different beast!!

The job description just mentions "Proficiency in SABRE preferred, knowledge of AMEDEUS acceptable" So I don't know which, This is a newer company, I'll have to do some digging behind the scenes to get more info on that.

PaulTX,
THANK YOU!!! Your link to SABRE, got me to The Travel Institute, which I found earlier, but the site is a bit 1994, so I discounted it. But if SABRE endorses it, then that is where I will start.

I have a Travel Institute certification in Golf Travel. The Travel Institute's website might look old, but they are the go-to people for travel industry education.

This might help remove a "Catch-22" when they ask "do you know Sabre?"
