How to exchange a ticket

I am booked on a business class company provided ticket Rio - Perth - Rio, Lan and Qantas, via Santiago Chile. However I don't wish to go to Perth but travel to Ottawa Canada via Miami instead. The company only buys home base return tickets, do not ask for anything else. I tried this last week. "Do whatever you want with the ticket once it has been issued"
I have been in contact with the travel agent, they would need to cancel the ticket and reissue another, this would require my manager to sign, not going to happen.
I called Qantas, they can't touch it as it was issued through a travel agent, much the same with LAN I'm figuring.
Can anybody offer some advice at what I could possibly do here as I'm kind of stuck at the moment.
The only saving grace is that I have a couple of months to get this sorted.
Many thanks in advance.

Looks like quite the quagmire. AFAIK, most tickets issued through travel agents (as opposed to airlines directly) can only be changed by the travel agent. To my knowledge, once you fly the first segment on that airline, then the airline assumes control of the ticket. So it looks like you're pretty much stuck.

Florin,
Thank you for the reply, not really what I wanted to hear, but I knew it was coming. I can't really afford to leave the changes until I start flying, this would be cutting it to fine. Think I will try and pay off the agent.
