UK Ancestry Visa Application - How Long to Process?
I am a Canadian citizen who is looking to get a UK ancestry visa (INF 9). I understand that the process is to submit an application online at www.visas4uk.org, then go to www.visaservices.com to make an appointment at a Visa Application Centre (VAC), get an interview and then wait for an answer.
My question is, once I apply...
(1) How long does it take to get an appointment at a VAC (specifically the Toronto VAC)?
(2) How long after the interview does it take to get an answer back and get my passport returned? I know it says from 5 - 15 days, but curious if anyone could give me some advice based on recent experience.
Thanks,
Greg

To answer my own questions...
After applying online, interviews were available the next day at the VAC (Visa Application Centre) in Toronto. The VAC really justs accepts the documents and passes them on to the UK High Commission.
My application took only 4 days to process with an approval (most likely because I have lots of job experience and a good deal of cash saved up), but I have heard of applications taking up to 10 weeks to process for Ancestry Visas. Another couple days for the passport to be returned to the VAC for pick up.
Obviously, this is my experience, and yours may vary.
