Checking bags advice
Hello,
Just a word for all of you bag checkers out there:
Make sure when the agent/contractor puts on the bag tags on your bags correctly. The wrong way; both side straps velcroed together with the bag tag around the both. The right way; bag tag wrapped around one strap only.
I witnessed a UA baggage contractor placing it the wrong way. When he went to pick up the bag, he did so by one of the straps. The velcro gave way, the bag tag ripped right off and fell to the floor. The agent printed another and proceeded to do the same thing.
So what do they think baggage handlers on the ramp will do? They grab on to the most convienient thing, which is usually one handle. The bag tag comes off, no one notices and your bag is now officially lost.
So, just check to make sure the agent is tagging your bags correctly.
