Baggage(last to collect)
Subject: Baggage(last to collect)
My bags used to come out last everytime(thats 100%)
of the time. It was so bad I had to ask a 'sky-cap'
and he said probably I am one of the first to check-in. And he is right. I do check in around 3 hrs. before flt. time.
....So, is this true? The earlier I check-in the more likely
my bags will come out last??
----------------------
...by the way..2 weeks ago I made *E on AC
and on the YYZ to EZE(Argentina) flt. my bags
came out in the top 33%. and I checked-in 4 hrs.
before my flt. I guess it pays to be Elite.

This also seems to be one of the downsides to having a longer layover (2+ hrs)... to make matters worse on top of the long connection. But, hopefully the bag makes it there!

I think it's incredibly hard to tell if the OP's logic is correct. Some better airlines will actually rearrange how baggage goes into an airplane.

Personally, I've found it to be almost 100% random, particularly with connections. I've always assumed that there were enough steps in the process that there was no way the bags would stay in any particular order.
For the OP, perhaps it's not random; maybe you should consider tipping the skycap next time.
Oh, and being elite does matter, at least on some airlines. Works well for me on int'l flights on UA, but not so much on domestic ones.
