Baggage Claim Wait Times

Just arrived home at Seatac... waited 45 mins for my bags to arrive... after i had arrived from my gate. I know not checking luggage is preferred but anytime I come home from a long vacation it seems that I always wait at least 30 mins at the baggage claim itself for my bags at Sea Tac (even with priority tagS- afer coming from the S satelite). How long are people waiting for bags elsewhere?

It varies *dramatically*.

Charlotte: About 20-30 minutes
Columbia SC: About 5 minutes.

MCI is usually about 10 minutes. Sometimes faster.

Of the major airports, I've always had good luck at ORD. I think it's a combination of having to walk a long way to the baggage claim - as well as the fact that on any given MCI-ORD flight, most bags are headed for connecting flights, leaving the pile of bags headed to the baggage claim somewhat small.

Last time I had checked luggage arriving at IAD (June) it was easily 45 minutes. Good thing it had a priority tag on it...

MCI and DFW are usually among the quickest....(and that has much to do with the design of the facilities).

At OAK it was about 35 minutes (this was around 12:30am however so may not have been enough baggage handlers).

At LAX it was 2 minutes. Both on WN. Amazing.

While I wait the bags is more than 15 minutes is being delivery to baggage claim area. When I was flying out from PHX all the way to FLL. When my bags was take on the plane their way from PHX-ATL-FLL. It wsa very quickest to get my bags came out from plane.

Here at PHX. It took more than 15 minutes wait to get my bags is being delivery. Why DL was taking so long time while the bags is came off the aircraft. I think the ramp worker need do speed up to get out of the aircraft faster.

JFK is the worst - over an hour everytime. I avoid checking whenever I can.

RSW is usually at least 35-45 Minutes. When I fly out of APF it is usually less than 10 Min.

A couple of weeks ago at EWR I waited over an hour and my bag was the third bag. A week prior, my bag was already going around in circles when I arrived at baggage claim.

LHR is usually bad (so what's new)

After what seems like a mile walk from the gate to immigration - a 10 minute queue to get through the UK line a visit to the loo and then another 5 minute walk to the belts I've known me wait 45 minutes for my case (so about a total time of 1 hour and 15 mimutes)

Generally Fastest - SIN - Have got from the plane through immigration, collected the luggage and got in a taxi in less that 15 minutes a couple of times.

Fastest ever was at Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia arriving from SIN. Was in F and was actually in the hotel room within 20 minutes of getting off the plane. First to immigration - then to the luggage belt where case was already there! Hotel Limo driver was standing by luggage who whisked us through customs straight to the car where we were taken staright to the Shangri La's Club lounge and straight to the room for check in! It was so quick I actually think I was getting into the limo as people at the back of the plane were still getting off
