RFID for baggage tags?

Hi -- I recently read about LAS experimenting with RFID-enabled baggage tags with great success: it reduced the amount of manually-sorted baggage by 90%. Last I heard, the IATA was going to issue a report about implementing RFID tags.

Can anyone update us on the status and likelihood of airlines using RFID baggage tags? What third-party companies (if any) are consulting airlines on feasibility/implementation?

They've been using RFID tags at HKG for well over a year. I only go thru once or twice a year so I am not sure what they are doing now.
