My husband and I will be flying from Toronto to Athens on Olympic Airlines. We'd like other travelers to give us a heads up on what to expect--good, bad, indifferent.
We flew on them many years ago and had a pretty decent experience.
Any input is appreciated.

Generally not recognised as a leading airline.
This site rates them as a 2 star airline and the reviews would seem to suggest that they can offer a good service but also the service can be pretty dire

The food is pretty good ex-ATH. The flight actually stops in Montreal on the way to and from Athens but you cannot get off (I dont think). They have small TVs in each seat in Y. The F/As are not very courteous, so heard. The interior is of the plane blue. ATH airport is nice and its new. The plane is an Airbus A340 and it looks nice

I used to fly them direct from JFK quite a bit. I could have also flown Delta the same route, but I chose Olympic for being a bit better in the areas of food and video system in coach.
The seats and service were more or less identical to Delta's.
As a Skyteam elite, I was willing to miss the miles to go with Olympic. That should give you some indication since we're talking about a significant amount of miles.

Olympic, Not Bad, really
The Good:
The most leg room you will get in coach (33" seat pitch)- this is most important to me
IFE is good from JFK-ATH
Free drinks (booze)
Flight staff leaves you alone
The Bad:
No IFE from LHR-ATH
Delays - often late (sometimes not their fault, eg strikes airport delays)
Flight staff does not communicate delays or anything else beyond FAA rules
Flight staff leaves you alone
The average:
food
