The first time I saw the commercial, I thought, "what a noob!" Not only is he chowing down an a big 'ol burger during boarding, but he's stuck in the middle seat.

And I still don't trust a square-shaped burger patty...

I've never heard that announcement; but then again, I don't hang around boarding areas anyway.

Also, note that I didn't say that one shouldn't bring any food whatsoever on a flight, just food that has a smell that anyone other than the eater can pick up. I don't want to smell your burger/salad/taco/whatever, I may find it disgusting. There are plenty of other foods that one can choose from.

Well, that's nice. You've just described about every food. Perhaps you should publish a list of things that you find disgusting and make it available so that everyone knows they can't bring that on board because it makes you irritated.

And while we're at it, let me talk to you about your perfume.

Snack items (e.g. chips, pretzels), candy bars, etc. don't typically have any protruding scents.

It is beyond irritation, it is disgusting and inconsiderate.

Whenever I'm flying out of SJU I stop at the Isla Verde Wendy's... out of MCO, I just suck it up and get BK or . If I have time, I'll get Macaroni Grill to go

In my book it's the carry-on restrictions and the punitive food service that are beyond irritation. Snack items have no nutritional value, which is the point of food, right? I'm too old to squander calories on junk that anyway makes me feel sluggish and cranky. I won't pack smelly cheese (yum! but it would probably be considered a gel and confiscated ) but depending on what's in my fridge or what I have a yen for -- and most often, what's available at the terminal -- I go for protein and fruit and/or veggies. Jetlag is hard enough without exacerbating it with poor food choices, which is all you get in coach. I'm still peeved that I can no longer pack a frozen can of V-8 on the way to Europe to keep my (now forbidden) unsweetened breakfast yoghurt cool. (and believe me, it's tedious to have to worry about eating sensibly!)

Chips have no scent? I take it you don't have much experience eating chips

biting my tongue here...what an a$% you are. I guess we should only bring rice cakes on board so we don't offend you?

I bring Popeye's fried chicken onboard whenever I transfer in ATL. I imagine Wendy's is much less offensive.

OK, if the guy next to me starts to open up his tubs of kimchee, curried chicken, and smoked oysters, I might object (then again, I might ask him if he has extra ). Frankly, that Wendy's burger doesn't give off much odor, probably less than a lot of pax. Let him eat in peace.

Well I guess I could name call too; however, I won't resort to that. Why must you bring something on board in the first place? Is it that difficult to wait until you land or to have something beforehand?
