The TG 345 also has this toilet window, at least in the forward toilet. I actually quite enjoy the sensation of having a view on the loo.

they're also called Switchable Glass windows. See here for an example!

Wink

Gives a new meaning to "Flying Loo." I can not envison someone starting up an airline that calls itself "Loo Airlines" just for the fact they have windows in their Loos in all cabin levels. :P

South African Airways A340-600's also have windows in the toilets.

I personally like the idea. During long haul daytime flights, its nice to see a little daylight when the crew have closed all the window blinds in the cabin to enable people to sleep after lunch.

I remember an old episode of Airport where John, the Heathrow station Manager for Qantas was joking about the passengers who would insist on closing the blind before they would use the toilet whilst at 36000 feet

SAS have them across their fleet, A330, A340, MD series, 737, A321. Not a 777 though as that bird has never been in SK livery

Not to be confused with "Flying Poo", which is an FFP where you can never get an award flight - wait, that describes quite a few of them.

These are the biz class lavatories. No F on this plane, which is used for the JFK and LAX nonstops to BKK.

Windows suck. There really were people sucked out of a DC-10 when an engine exploded and broke a window.

Time was that operators would delete windows with metal blanking plates known as "plugs" where they were not required, they were usually quite obvious under the paint scheme. As aircraft structures have got more sophisticated this approach has lost favour.
What are the toilet cell walls, door and the toilet mechanism supposed to do when the plane decompresses through a window in the toilet?

747 Upstairs Lavs

Often, upstairs business-class lavatories (on 747s) have windows. I find it very nice, especially when there is sunlight coming in (and night you usually can't see anything at 35k feet anyway). I've flown recently in upstairs J on QF, CX, and JL. I know at least some of these have windows in at least some of the lavs, but I didn't make a note of which ones, although I think it is the forward ones.

I flew Qantas from LAX to Sydney last year and the first class lav had a window. And lovely fresh flowers too.

We don't need to encourage people to hang out in the loo.
