What is wrong with alerting parties you're meeting on the ground that you've arrived, especially if early or late, and even more if they're parked in a will-call location so they can know to start heading over to pick you up curbside?
Just cause you've got nobody to call, or are a reticent type, or have ESP, doesn't mean others don't or aren't. |

I understand not having to, but why can't you? I would assume that you are after all at your destination. I mean no offense but I am curious. If I am where I want to go I do have the time, unless maybe I am late for check in at a hotel. But those are not the conversations that I hear - they are mostly very banal.
Banal to you, droll to me, earth shattering to the next person. Maybe that is just the way they operate. I don't know what's going on in these people's lives, but I sure as hell don't care what they talk about (or don't talk about) as long as they're not screaming it directly in my ear. |

How about *anyone* that doesn't know the difference between an indoor and an outdoor voice, regardless of age?
The jerk who has to regale us with "LET ME TALK TO MY PEOPLE AND I'LL HAVE MY SECRETARY CALL YOU BACK BY NEXT WEEK JIM. YA KNOW, WE'VE HAVE ALOT OF CONSIDERATION GOING ON HERE.....blah blah blah blah blah blah blah........." is just as annoying as "Mommy, I wanna..............". |

However, I agree with the initial point. It's okay to call your contacts to let them know you've arrived and where you're going to meet them. But why do they have to sceam and why do they insist on the stupid stuff like what they ate on the airplane or where they're traveling to next month? When in a crowd, keep the cell phone conversations to what's necessary. Well maybe they can, maybe they can't. Who knows who's anxiously waiting to get in the car to pick them up....or whatever?

Rental Car Pet Peeves
A) renting a car in Detroit and they forgot to put a snow scraper in the car.
B) Kansas City--where I still have to CALL to get a shuttle from the terminal. C) trying to return a car in MIA where return signs are vague and confusing. D) sitting in the shuttle at BWI for 35 minutes before it finally gets to the lot. E) when Hertz, National, & Avis, are sold out and I have to use DOLLAR. :td: |
1. First class F/A's who serve one drink, one meal, and that's all folks.
2. Gate agents who point to a phone and say "pick dat up" and that's all folks. 3. Reservation agents who can only say "Pleese you name pleeese" and that's all folks. 4. and lastly, Delta and (you got it) THAT'S ALL FOLKS! |

After all, I paid my money just like you (or my company has) so suck it up, it's public transportation after all. JHMO Tim |

Bathroom users who don't close the door AFTER they have entered the bathroom are even worse. I have seen this more on interior flights in parts of Africa where it is possible that some of these people have never seen a door before (I kid you not). I recall one time opening a bathroom door that was clearly "Vacant" and seeing an old guy bent over doing the post dump scrape, now that spoils your day..... |
Early standers
And another one, people who stand up the moment the plane stops and then stand there jostling for space with all the other ones who have just stood up.....

My biggest pet peeve is not getting upgraded on every international flight (booked with the cheapest fares).
