Question Snow Sailing

This topic got to me as I was reading a newspaper article and saw a photo of a fisherman working on his catches on his net onboard his boat during a heavy snowfall in Alaska. I have definately heard lots of fictional tales about sailors sailing during a wet stormy rain and of course, many reports of people travelling on cruises or sailing voyages during heavy rainfall. But never have I heard of sailing during a snowfall. Just wondering if anyone here has ventured out on a cruise, boat, or sailing expenditure or journey and encountered a snowfall in the middle of the ocean? Call me ignorant, but it always amazes me whenever I see snow covering the coast line or beaches in certain areas. In fact just saw a brochure with someone cross country skiing in Maine along the snow covered beach. It's just I've always been under the impression that snow is a "Mountain & Inland" thing and is rather uninformed along coastal sea.
