Delta or Continental for coach class?

Hi all,

Great site

I have a dilemma!

I have to fly to GPT in a couple of months and usually fly with Delta coach but am considering Continental for a change.

Has anyone a preference? Any good or bad stories?

Thanks
Karl

It depends on the plane more than the airline. See www.seatguru.com .

CO does have "meals at mealtime", however.

You didn't say where you are flying from, but I think for CO you will connect through Houston to a regional jet, and on DL it will be through ATL on a regional jet. As the posters above have alluded to, flying coach varies from tolerable to miserable on most domestic airlines, so the shortest flight time would be my goal. Do you live closer to Houston or Atlanta?

Funny!

I agree -- it doesn't matter. They're all the same -- choose on mileage program (which, under most circumstances, will be the same on these since DL and CO are partners), schedule, and fare.

If you've been flying with Delta and have at least some miles in their program, might as well go with them. Unless CO is cheaper or has better times/connections.

CL and CO are partners, BUT... CO is the only "partner" on which one only earns .5 MQM per mile flown on cheap fares. On every other partner, its 1 MQM per mile flown on any paid fare. This is only relavent if the OP is a DL Skymiles member.

Hahaha .. that's funny.

If you don't care about miles, go with CO. Otherwise, be careful of CO's 50% EQM's on their cheap fares.

I BELIEVE if you book on continental.com, you get 100% EQM's, but I have no direct experience with this.

CO offers free wifi in all President's Clubs systemwide. No "real" food to speak of...but alcoholic bevvies are free as well. The new Continental President's Club at terminal E, IAH, is quite possibly one of the nicest domestic lounges nationwide (excluding Int'l Biz & F lounges like VS Clubhouse).

Don't know whether NW WorldClubs offer free internet...but they also have free drinks.
