Paying for lounge access

Do you pay for lounge access if not included with your ticket?

I'm taking my 2nd non-*A flight (other than short discount) on THursday with Qatar Airways from LHR-DOH. The 1st trip was in J, so I got lounge access included. I'm trying to decide whether or not it is worth paying for lounge access.

I looked at Priority pass, but I really do travel most of the time with *A (lounge access included) or in J (the other legs of this trip - lounge access included). The price just seems to0 high for my needs.

I am thinking about paying for the Servisair lounge in T3 at LHR. I've been in the MAN lounge (as a *A) and... well.. definitely not worth the 18 quid that they want for LHR.

If I do pay for it, what is the best way to pay? The www.executivelounges.com website is quoting me 17.50. What if I show up at the door to pay?

Things that I look for in a lounge include internet access, comfort, food and drink.

Thanks,

Dr. PITUK

I don't think it would be worth paying for in your specific situation.

The servisair lounge in T3 is nothing special - afraid I can't remember if it has internet access. I suppose it comes down to how long you expect to be there. Bear in mind it might not be close to the gate you need to be at.

I think PP is expensive when bought as a standalone.... but can be worthwhile with Amex Plat. 300 a year including 2 PPs (version where all visits are free) and travel insurance for your supplementary/additional cardholders. Or Morgan Stanley's i24 card includes it for 275 a year - plus their credit card is % free on foreign currency transactions.

Sounds like for this trip it might not be worthwhile. On my last couple of trips through LHR, security has been so slow (even with fast track which I'm guessing you won't have this time) that I never made it to the lounge anyway.

I would definitely not pay to enter the Servisair lounges. They are rubbish. The Holideck in terminal 4 would be worth the money buit that's not much good for you.
