Flying from Yerevan to Tehran

Flying from Yerevan to Tehran
My search shows these two cities are served by Armavia Airlines and Caspian Airlines. If anyone has flown on either of the airlines in the last 12 months, I'd appreciate your comment (couldn't find any report on airlinequality.com)
Would there be a third alternative carrier? Thanks!

Have not been on either airline, the negatives of each are:
Caspian - An Iranian airline that flies the old Russian TU-154s. To me that would not be a problem, but to some that would be a big problem. I've flown around Iran quite a bit and can tell you that the safety standards there are pretty bad by western standards.
Armavia - Best known for losing almost half their fleet in a few days. On 3 May 2006, an Armavia A320 crashed in bad weather due to pilot error. 2 days later another one of their A320s was destroyed in hangar fire in Belgium (nothing to do with the airline). That left them with just 1 A320 left.
If it were me... I'd go Armavia. They've had their bad luck already!

My planned trip goes like this:
HKG - Tehran - (overland Iran to Armenia) - Yerevan - HKG
That's why the first thought was using QR or EK to fly roundtrip between HKG and Tehran, thus the need for a one-way flight from Yerevan to Tehran. Now given your feedback on Armavia and Caspian airlines, and the not so convenient Air Arabia schedule, I guess I should consider Aeroflot for HKG/SVO/Tehran/Yerevan/SVO/HKG?
Last time I flew Aeroflot from Yerevan to SVO they used a decent aircraft, a far cry from the duct-taped dated machine they used on my Moscow/Baku flight.
