I do... anyone else out there who dreams Aviation, every night, in ridiculous detail?
Last night I had a very involved dream about catching a flight on an IranAir 747SP from LAX to Nassau. Improbable, yes, I know.
Lots of fun little details, like the Skylights thoughtfully installed in the roof of the 'bubble,' and the ratty seats...
My boyfriend rolls his eyes, because without fail I dream of Aviation.
When I was a Flight Attendant I'd consistantly dream that I showed up to work in my pajamas or some-such nonsense.

But to be fair, I also like the 747SP, it's such a funny airplane. Doubt I'll ever get to fly on one though.
BTW, for those that don't know what we're talking about:

I used to have a recurring plane crash theme in my dreams. It was random and sporadic. The criteria (such as when the crash happened, what type of plane, who I was with) all that would change from dream to dream.
On only one occasion did I "die" and was waiting to go to "heaven"... Coincidentally, the waiting area was the RiverWalk behind the RenCen in Detroit... Sure, Canada is across the river, and while it IS nice, it is not "heaven"...
And on the last one of such dreams, the plane did not end up crashing, and I have not had one since.
(And yes, I am aware of the interpretations behind these...)
And then there was the one time I dreamed about flying Business Class to HYD on a 747. Instead of seats, we had uncomfortable conference room style tables/chairs.

I have had a few dreams about this stuff. Yep, I have dreamed about crashing. Something that has happened a couple of times is that I ironically crashed near my house and I was confused as a rescuer instead of being on the plane. I also have dreamed of dialing 911 on my cell phone to tell them about the crash. Wouldn't that be a helluva call.
Ironically, I can't sleep much on planes. But if I have trouble sleeping at night, if I think of flying, I can go right to sleep.

Perhaps I misspoke... Detroit was only the WAITING room (or as the Catholics would have it, Purgatory...). CANADA was heaven. Maybe if I liked maple syrup and hockey, of which I care for neither.Originally Posted by J-M

** All comments made in good fun. I am a born and raised Catholic, and deeply love my neighbors to the south, Canada... **
Of course we don't dream about a 747SP. Puh-leeze.
We dream of flying one of these
..... or maybe one of these

Nice choices, but the aircraft I dream about is this one.Originally Posted by WHBM

If it is supersonic flight you dream of, THIS 747SP was supersonic. At least for a little while. Oh, wrong kind of dream.

Hadn't heard about that particular incident. Wrong kind of dream, indeed!
Then again, it was a China Airlines aircraft, so I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised.

Is the title inspired by the title of a Philip Dick novel?
I guess the nerds may get a chance to fly a new version of the 747SP if Boeing makes a shortened version of the 747-8i for EK.
