TACA trouble
I purchased 7 tickets with GP miles for travel DFW to Costa Rica on TACA in July of 05 for travel November 05. We were denied boarding because one of the tickets was for a i year old child who did not have a passport. We were told that we could exchange the tickets up to one year. Upon presenting the tickets in November 06 prior to the one year expiration and requesting a new travel date TACA refused to honor the tickets saying that the window closed in July 06 rather than Nov 06. What suggestions to enroll TACA in my circumstances and create value for the expended points or get some value at least. Many thanks in advance.

This is a classic example of tickets being good for one year from the date of issue rather than from the date of travel. Many airlines have this policy.
Unless you have specific information (hopefully in writing) from the agent you spoke with advising you it was based on the date of travel, you are probably out of luck.
