3 things you hate about the (current) city you live in..

Top 3 things. I can start:

LAX
  • traffic
  • smog
  • people (attitudes, anxiety/anger level, lifestyle disparity and its consequences)

PIT

Waaaaaaaay too many to limit to 3. I hate this friggin' place. Such a sh*thole. But, three is the order, so three it is:

1. Weather- It's crap. Did you know that behind a particular region of the Puget Sound, the northern suburbs of PIT is the most cloudy place in the States? Yeppers. Right were I am... in the northern suburbs. Top that with the cold, non-golfing weather and it's no freakin' wonder the younger generation is moving the hell outta Allegheny county. What a craphole.

2. Demographics- The youngins move outta this hellhole for greener pastures leaving the elderly behind. This place is rife with the elderly. Hey, it's not that I don't appreciate them for what they've done, it's just that... well, you know. They're the elderly.

3. Stupidity- There's so many stupid people in this region. So friggin' many simple-minded, obtuse residents, it ain't even funny. Let's face it, if yo ulike it here and aren't moving, you're pretty stupid.

btw, I was born and raised here.

btw2, the third most cloudy part of the States is near Erie, PA, right on the lakeshore. I'll bet the people up there are stupid too.

DC metropolitan area

considering it's the nation's capital...

-nightlife
-public transportation
-luxury hotels and resorts inside/outside the city

i dislike the fact that those things are ridiculously below par

Kona

1. Having to constantly decide whether to wear the green swimsuit or the blue one.

2. Chilly nights that can dip below 68 degrees.

3. That annoying constant smell of coconut...

Seattle

1. Well, uh...the rain.

2. Dumbass drivers who seem to not be able to drive in the rain and clog up I-5 with their dumbass accidents. No fail.

3. Have I mentioned the rain?

I hate you. :D

SFO: It's kinda hard to think of things I hate, because this is one of my favorite cities in the world and I still can't believe I get to live here. But:

1. Muni buses that never show up when they're supposed to, especially late at night, and then turn out to contain crazy people who haven't bathed in a year and/or are shouting random profanities and threats.

2. The large population of panhandlers. I know the city and an army of nonprofit groups are working hard to help them, but it's still both sad and disconcerting. Also sort of scary late at night when waiting for the bus, which I do every night after work. (Note that I'm not saying I hate homeless people -- it just sickens me that so many people have nowhere to go or are mentally ill and can't get help, and the problem here seems severe to me.)

3. ... Nope, that's all I have. Can I say Muni buses again?

FLL

Lousy climate (humidity and rain - YUCK)!

Incredibly rude, self-absorbed people (partially to blame for the nightmarish traffic and driving conditions)

Fourth-rate opera company, desperately aspiring to achieve third-rate status

Otherwise, it's PARA-DISE!!!

I lived in the Berkeley area for a year. Is it wrong to suggest/speculate that the mild climate, combined with (over)-friendly social policies, actually encourage people to stay there for the homeless benefits?

sorry, don't wish to spawn a political discussion -- back to the original topic...

I love my town. I wouldn't change a thing. If I really had to push it, I'd want an ATM in town, but they just put in one down the street in the next town at a rest area.

We have two, but they are virtually never in service.
