EAT . . .

1. It only takes 5 minutes to get across town, not nearly enough time to hear the end of that interesting piece on NPR.

2. There's no polution so the sunsets aren't all that great.

3. Everyone is friendly and it takes forever to get through the line at the grocery store because people want to chat and see how you are.

:D :D :D

It's STILL the best location in the nation and I am proud to call it home.

VERY sad to hear about Casey Coleman. Met him a couple of times, awfully nice guy and an awesome broadcaster.

This time it was a Russo by marriage. Completely incompetent, and the very first judiciary candidate I've ever seen who received a ZERO rating from every legal organization that rated candidates.

And it is much nicer than most foljs might think, except for taxes, politics & grocery costs. Chicago was cheaper.

TUS

1) Winter snowbirds. Many don't know how to drive here.
2) Californian refugees. Many are looking for a better life here, but vote for the same sort of politicians and propositions that they voted for in California.
3) Summer heat. Triple digits. At least it's a dry heat.

San Francisco

1) Homeless people. Come on, living in a box should never be one of your permitted options.
2) $15 martinis.
3) Restaurants who swear my delivery is on the way when they clearly forgot the whole order.

NYC:

Out of control cars...I have been hit once and nearly hit several times.
Ubsurd prices on some things,
People who crowd sidewalks by walking 4 across and chit chatting while moving at a snails pace if at all.

SAN

1.No rain to complain about
2.No public transportation to complain about
3.No theater or night life to complain about

Melbourne, Australia

1. Climate - It's not uncommon to experience 4 seasons in 1 day. It annoys me when I have my car washed on a sunny afternoon and then it rains 2 hours later.

2. Pretentious People - Whilst more applicable to the 18-24 age group, Melbournians can be terribly pretentious compared to their EU/US counterparts.

3. "Extreme" Ethnic Subgroups - This is likely to cause some flak, but I'll mention it anyway. I'm sick of ethnic subgroups (normally south europeans) who hate our country... It's normally the uneducated younger second generations, whereas their parents work hard and integrate into Australian society very well (language aside). It's funny, because the vast majority of these people have never even visited their 'country of nationality'. I'm not going to bother elaborating because it would take me all day to explain :).

Generally though, it's a great city. Well educated, ethnically diversified (= good food), culture and low crime. Traffic is becoming more of a problem than it used to be though.

Interesting - I grew up in MEL and we have decided to move there in a year's time. Fancy a MEL FT DO? We'll be there for Christmas and NewYear.

And BTW, you aint seen pretentious till you have lived in Los Angeles!

EXCELLENT Observation. I find a lot of servers in another foodie city, NYC
are the opposite. Serving is there career, there good at it, and show a high
degree of prfessionalism. SFO suffers from exactly whant you stated
bored folks biding time.
