Does anyone know where this aircraft flies on Wednesdays instead? Also, I've recently had the pleasure to fly on Skybus to Burbank. The flight attendants were all very friendly and not pushy at all to buy anything. I had an issue with a lost bag, but I received it a few days later unharmed. When they found my bag, they even shipped it FedEx Overnight Priority, which surprised me since they seem so cheap in their costs. Overall I would definitely fly them again. In fact, I'm flying them to Punta Gorda this February for a weekend and back out to California in March for a week.

Not sure...but the Wednesday flights stop in early/mid March so whatever is being added to the schedule then. Perhaps the second daily GSO-FLL? Not sure what will operate that route the rest of the week though? Perhaps it will just sit as a fuel conservation issue.

Small airports= less time waiting for bags, smaller security lines, less time taxiing on the tarmac and less time in the rental car center.

I totally agree. My motto is, "I want to pay for what I consume, and not pay for what I don't consume." If only life were like that.

I am in the minority over on the Marriott forum, because I don't want "free" high-speed internet access in the room -- I rarely use it, and it must be the case that the cost of the "free" service is built into the cost of the room.

Of course, there's always a balance -- Marriott gives everyone "free" soap, towels, and closet space, which I think are reasonable. But the things that Skybus charges for are certainly discretionary, so I like the model. It seems so true that, when the market for air travel speaks, it says loudly and clearly that travelers ultimately care most about low ticket prices. So we will see.

Thanks for doing that! lots of work! Interesting that they're retiming a lot of flights in the schedule. The GSO-BUR flight goes from 9am-ish to 6.15am! But, the good news is that it does not operate as a red-eye. Interesting that Skybus doesnt do that with any of their planes?!

GSO has painted their gates in the terminal bright orange to match their livery...Looks like theyre using Gate 21 (?? first one on the left after security), their current gate 25 and gate 27 next to Delta's...Does anyone know if they will be using a fourth gate?

I had the misfortune to find out that my CMH to OAK flight in March was changed from 9:09 a.m. to 5:45 a.m. That's too early to get up! Also, I figured out that the aircraft that does the GSO-BUR run everyday except Wednesdays, goes to CMH early in the morning on Wednesdays and comes back to GSO at around the time that it would come back from Burbank on any other day. I wonder if they will announce some route from CMH for this aircraft since it will be there all day instead of doing the GSO-BUR run.

Interesting...either that or maybe they will rotate them through for maintenance. or MAYBE a weekly Caribbean flight (still waiting for that one, right?!)...

You know what? I was thinking the exact same thing about a Caribbean flight with this aircraft.

Just another way to keep the overhead low. No overnights means not having to pay for hotel rooms for the crew.

Yes, SX does not have received the authority from DOT for both CMH-NAS/CUN this time. Hopefully you will have wait to see if I can hear any more specific information from DOT. I will have your chance to response from DOT shortly. If SX will wins the rights for CMH-CUN approval and otherwise, SX will choose the specific dates will inauguration from CMH-CUN or NAS.

I flew Skybus from Newburgh-Columbus over the weekend, mainly due to B6 no longer serving CMH (I fly to Cincy biweekly but due to the PROHIIBITIVE fares into CVG (I'm looking at you, Delta) I often fly to CMH and drive the 100 or so miles.) I live in Westchester County so SWF is only maybe 10-15 minutes farther than JFK. First, flying out of SWF is an entirely pleasurable experience compared to LGA/JFK. $11 parking, no lines, and when you taxi out you're first in line for takeoff. The flight was fine, I had the row to myself and was actually a couple minutes early. The FA's are young and hungry but don't really push the selling too bad. Looked like about 1/2 the flight bought something. The return flight was a bit delayed (1/2 hour) but with the weather I found that to be reasonable. They didn't do a good job of informing of the delay on their website, however, and I rushed to CMH unnecessarily. Would I fly them again? Certainly, especially if they opened some new routes that were more desirable than just CMH (and GSO, for that matter).

I generally fly Jetblue if at all possible; Usair, Spirit, VX, United next; and avoid Delta/AA/Continental like the plague.

I've heard similar comments a number of times with regard to Skybus. Don't get me wrong, it's great for the passengers, but an airline cannot survive on $10 tickets and 1/3 of the plane filled.

Now that "Hartford" to Columbus is up to 2x daily, I've booked the first $20 same day ticket I could find.

$36.20 all in.

I'll report back on my flight in early April.

Oh, I agree. It was about 50% full outbound and 65% full inbound. Still, it was the first weekend of service from SWF and basically a flight to nowhere (something tells me Columbus isn't a hot weekend destination for New Yorkers... besides myself.)
