One thing I cant say enough about is their BUR-CMH route. If you fly out of LAX, you know BUR cuts travel time down by about 1 hour. Add the fact the BUR flys DIRECTLY to CMH. No ORD delays, no DFW 2 hour connects. So essencially you are sacrificing quality for time and price. I believe that route is worth it to me, VS flying F on United through ORD or DEN and adding an extra 3-4 hours per trip.

I agree. I'd never add a connection for a domestic flight, even if I could get an upgrade. I'd consider it only if it meant an upgrade on an intercontinental flight.

I always give entrepreneurs, especially in an industry as mature as the airline industry, the benefit of the doubt. That is, they must have thought through the no-phone-number plan, particularly in event of a snowstorm in Columbus, .

They don't really have the flights to accomodate passengers if flights get cancelled. Why have a phone number if there isn't anything that the airline is going to be doing, other then just refunding the fare paid?

Despite the mixed comments being posted here...just flew CMH-GSO and the flight was completely packed. The seat pitch was just like all other airlines, nothing cramped at all (although it has been mentioned this is because these are Virgin American planes on lease).

Apparently, GSO is doing really well so far and although the pax mix was heavily leisure-oriented, there were no "Ma and Pa Kettle" types. Mostly people bound for Ohio or North Carolina cities or those who hadnt checked bags. I overheard the ground agents and of the 129 pax (144 seats), only 60 had checked bags.

People were buying food and drinks at almost every row (which honestly surprised me). The crew was young, but funny (a la Southwest) and even offered to have the inflight messages sponsored if a company would pay for it.

All in all, this was a very pleasant experience, and everyone on the plane was complimenting the airline and the fares. I'd give Skybus two thumbs up (although I still prefer Delta any day)! ;)

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to fly them in July to BOS (oops, I mean NH).

I just returned from a CMH-MCI trip and my experience was similar to yours. A few more "Kettle" folk on the MCI route who didn't understand why cabin service was terminated early (captain told everyone to sit down because the flight was pretty bumpy). Other than that, great trip! I'll be curious to follow up when they get their own airplanes though.

I can just see it now... "This reminder to fasten your seatbelt is brought to you by AllState, where you're in good hands"

Or better yet... "Today's flight is brought to you by Budweiser... you're going to need it." :D

My Departure time was just moved back 30 minutes or so for both my Flights in Sept.

I guess that quick turnaround time thing isnt working out so well for old Skybus.

On another note, my friends said its not that bad a ride, and the whole interior of the plane was brand new CMH-BUR. They said a lot of selling is going on.

Sorry if someone has asked this, but I couldn't track it down through the 10 pages of this thread.

Has anyone been busted for bringing their own food/drink on board yet? Curious how that's working out.

You also have to consider the psychological aspect of SkyBus's own marketing. If SkyBus convinces pax that $10 is the right amount for one of their flights, what's going to happen when SkyBus asks for $80 for a fligth?

The way I understand it, the prohibition agianst food is not in the Contract of Carriage, so the most they can do is "kindly suggest" you not bring food.

That's probably because most of their flights that operate later in the day have a 0% on-time record so far.

As far as comfort, IIRC, future planes will feature 12 more seats than the ones they are operating now.
