Wink The Return of Pillows and Pretzels

I just returned from a RDU to SFO and return jaunt on American, and was amazed (it takes so little these days to exceed expectations when flying the majors ) when we were offered a snack pack with our drinks on the RDU to ORD leg. Imagine my shock when I boarded the 767 from ORD to SFO and found a pillow and blanket on every coach seat. Now for some odd reason I guess you can't have pillows AND pretzels. The ORD to SFO (and return) legs both had pillows but no pretzles. The RDU-ORD legs had pretzels and no pillows.

Could it be that the majors have finally figured out that the service on most all LCC's now exceeds their own in virtually every aspect? Could it be the drop in fuel costs that have triggered such a revolution as a package of pretzels? Excuse my cynicism, but I have been so dismayed by travel these days that any little improvement is note worthy. Gee ... think we'll some day have BOTH pretzels and pillows again on the same flight. NAH ... way too much to hope for.

I can't believe that AA really gets it, I would wager that you just got really really lucky.

YOu don't even get snacks? On CO, you still get meals.

One of my guys just flew RDU/SFO via ORD (in coach, poor fellow) and he got no snax, no pillows, and no blankets.

We are still laughing at him and his newly bad back. :-)
