Gifting lounge access to a stranger ?

If travelling alone and with the appropriate status (e.g. *G or OW sapphire/emerald), I was wondering how many people have picked a stranger at random (e.g. checking in at the Y counter) and got them into a lounge ?

It seems a shame to waste the benefit and why not make someone else happy without any cost/inconvenience to yourself!

Would you accept if travelling in Y and somebody offered this (with no strings attached) ?

I've taken a few parents travelling with small children in the past, but no longer use the airline lounges - not enough amenities to make worth my while.

One of my guys is a lifetime admirals club member so he and I go in. He brount in an older couple (80+) before their flight to London last month. They were on a second honeymoon so we bought them drinks before the flight and tried to get them to relax before their FIRST EVER airplane flight.

That depends on the lounge! For example, if passing through SIN, I assume a Y pax might benefit from using the SQ lounge, e.g. hot food, ice cream, showers, free Internet/wifi, a place to sleep etc.

Yup. Most recent example was when I was being escorted through security and immigration along with fellow pax (stranger) in Y who was injured - whom I invited in to the lounges at start and end of flight (we both were connecting albeit on different flights).

Yes, I have invited other male, Y passengers to enter *G clubs with me before international flights. I have only invited one female...a quite elderly, handicapped individual who was most appreciative and thanked me several times as she had never been in an airline club before. (I felt like a Boy Scout doing my good deed for the day. )

I've brought as many as 2 fellow travellers into the CRC with me. I almost always invite a person who has missed the same connection, experienced the same rescheduled or cancelled flight or mechanical delay. Some have been single females, but it's just an invitation into the club. I don't necessarily hang out with them.

I will at times take someone in, especially if the flight is delayed or such. I figure I can bring people in so I mind as well use it.
