"Carryons will go next"
From the AS ticket agent at LAX (who was making me check a liquid-free bag because they're only allowing one bag for carryon luggage) - "Next thing will be no carry-ons, especially into DC"
I'm sure it was her personal guess, but it's still unnerving hearing it from behind the counter.
I'm sorry, but that's insane. I'm hoping the airlines will lean on the Administration and get the "no liquids" thing either lifted or find a happy medium.

I'm sure it's her personal guess but not too far-fetched unfortunately.
I'd extend my forecast that all baggage, carry-on or checked, will be banned if and when someone uses/tries to use some sort of binary weapon (which the alleged plot that was exposed yesterday is a form of).

I read this about the UK "no carry-on" policy.

"Mr Alexander, who was at the meeting, reiterated that the security threat level would stay at its highest level while the investigation continued.
And hand-baggage restrictions would also remain in place for the foreseeable future, he told BBC News.
"I don't think we will be able to return to what we had in the past," he added".
