Evening all. I wasn't sure which forum to post this in, so please feel free to move it if needed.
I'll be flying from SAN into ORD on a connection to GSO next month. Unfortunately, I'm still a smoker. Since I will have a layover of about 2hours, is there anywhere inside ORD that allows smoking? Do I need to go all the way outside? If so, how long would it normally take to get back thru screening in the later afternoon hours on a Sunday?
TIA for the answers. This will be my first trip thru ORD, and I have no idea what to expect.

Have to go to the outer roadways on the upper level to smoke in O'Hare. (You'll get this once you get there)...
There are no more smoking lounges inside the airport. On a Sunday afternoon, assuming you have no status, it should take maybe 30 minutes to get through security on a bad day. Terminal 1 especially has plenty of security lines that are well laid out. T2 and T3 are slightly worse, and I've never encountered problems at T5.

Smoking is allowed in the designated smoking area on the lower level outside the terminal.

Thanks guys. I'm assuming no smoking inside at all, including bars, resturants, etc. Correct?
30 minutes isn't too bad. I've had much worse, but since it's my first time there, I was clueless.

You used to be able to smoke in the UA RCC (C concourse) but the Chi-town health police stopped that.
To make matters worse, if the Denver Health Police have their way, smoking will be banned in the ONE BAR that allows smoking in DEN.
Looks like non-stop trans-cons for me from now on.

T1 security won't be bad at that time, or else the trick is to go through T2 and walk over to T1 airside. T2 is crazy when an Apple Vacation is departing but you should be good.
