Security at IND

Flying out of IND last night. Boarding pass/ID checked up front. Once unloaded carry on and sent it through you go stand in this machine that blows air all around you and then walk through metal detector. I haven't seen this before? What does this machine do? Also wasn't asked to see boarding pass again.

You might want to visit the Travel Safety/Security Forum here on FlyerTalk. There are several dozen threads like this one discussing your question on the new "puffer" machines.
Happy travels.

Its suppose to eliminate BO and keep the airport smelling clean...

It is suppose to do a test for known explosives.
