I'm planning travel to Des Moines for late August. Looking at itineraries to Des Moines for August 15th - 19th (Tues - Sat) I'm finding fares are $300 from SFO, $260 from BOS, on both United and American. UA claims this is "everyday low fares", but I'm puzzled because there are no discount carriers in DSM and this doesn't include a Saturday night stay, so I'd expect the fares to be $500+. Any idea why so cheap, and how long this might last?

About right
I think those prices are about right with the normal prices I see.
I watch DSM flights pretty close (since that is my home airport), and would be VERY suprised to find many domestic $500+ prices.

Depends on when you travel and how far ahead you book. Most of my travel is booked inside of 2-3 weeks, and I regularly have to pay $500+. I also know when I fly to see family (EWR) I am happy to get anything under $300. Maybe that is just round trips originating in DSM. If you find a good rate, I would book it.
Just me, though. YMMV.
