By the way, I would open up a new west-of-the-rockies NW hub and call it:
LAT - pronounced with a long a for obvious reasons
or
MEC - due to the excessive amount of mechanical delays originating there

BBQ.
Finally, an airport with some decent food!
It would have a rooftop bar & grill with an industrial-sized smoker. ^ Planespotting while you gnaw your way through a full slab...

Without giving anything away, there's already an airport in California with my initials. I feel special whenever I fly in or out of it.

Funny you should mention that, I have a cousin whose last name is Lax, living in the San Fernando Valley. There is a (likely apocryphal) family story that one time when he showed up at the airport, his ticket had been converted into an order to ship 150lbs worth of freight.
Back to the thread.... Going slightly beyond the posted suggestion, but in honor of the nearby NSA HQ, I would change BWI into SPY. My personal airport would, of course, be named SOB. (Will that get converted into asterisks?)

Here is something more interesting. Take your first, middle, last name initial and click on the link below. Then see what those 3 letter code belongs to which city and country. My initials are LBV....It represents the city of Libreville in the country of Gabon. I think Gabon is in Africa(which is one of the two continent i have been to.....yet)
